Privacy Policy
How we handle your personal information. Last updated 12 August 2026.
This policy explains what personal information B.C Commercials collects through this website, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. We keep it deliberately short, because we collect very little.
Who we are
B.C Commercials is the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at:
- Phone: 07875 442114
- Email: b.ccommercial1@yahoo.com
What we collect
The only personal information we collect directly is what you choose to type into our contact form:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- The type of enquiry you select
- Whatever you write in the message field
If you call, email or message us instead, we hold whatever you tell us in that conversation. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs, which can include your IP address, for security and to keep the site running.
You don’t have to give us any of this. It’s only needed so we can reply — without a way to contact you, we can’t answer your enquiry.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We use your details for one thing: to reply to your enquiry and, if you go ahead, to carry out the work and keep a record of it. The lawful basis is legitimate interests — you have contacted us about our services and expect a reply — and, where we go on to do work for you, performance of a contract.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing unless you have specifically asked us to.
Cookies and tracking
This website uses no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. We don’t know who visits, only that the site was visited.
Two essential cookies are set for security reasons: one by Cloudflare, our hosting provider, to protect the site from automated abuse, and one by hCaptcha, which protects our contact form from spam. Neither identifies you, and neither tracks you across other websites.
Who else handles your data
A few service providers process data on our behalf. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Web3Forms — receives and stores contact form submissions and delivers them to our email inbox. Submissions are automatically deleted from their system after 7 days. Their privacy policy.
- hCaptcha — protects our contact form from spam and automated submissions. Their privacy policy.
- Evogize — builds and maintains this website, and has technical access to contact form submissions as part of providing that service.
- Cloudflare — hosts the website and keeps server logs. Their privacy policy.
- Yahoo — provides the email account your enquiry arrives in.
- Sanity — stores the articles in our News section. It holds no information about visitors.
Where your data is stored
Some of the providers listed above store or process data outside the UK. Where that happens, those transfers are covered by the providers’ own safeguards — such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses — which require them to protect your information to UK standards. You can read how each provider handles this in their privacy policies, linked above.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we need them and no longer. If an enquiry doesn’t lead to work, we delete it once it’s clearly gone cold. Where we have carried out work, we keep the record for up to six years, which is the period we may need it for tax, warranty and legal purposes.
Contact form submissions are automatically deleted from our form provider’s system after 7 days. The copy that arrives in our email inbox is retained as described above.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Have anything inaccurate corrected
- Ask us to delete it
- Ask us to restrict how we use it
- Object to us using it
- Ask for a copy in a portable format
To exercise any of these, email b.ccommercial1@yahoo.com. We’ll respond within one month.
Automated decisions
We don’t use your information to make automated decisions about you, and we don’t profile you. Every enquiry is read and answered by a person.
Complaints
If you think we’ve mishandled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. This policy was last updated on 12 August 2026.
